Spring and Summer in Symphony Farms

April 13, 2021

There is a familiar buzz in the air at Symphony Farms. Families are out walking, children are playing games and riding bikes, and gardens are adding vibrant color to the community. Spring is here in Gardner and we are thrilled to see our homeowners enjoying it.

How do you make the most of your new home in the neighborhood? Read more to see how Symphony Farms residents stay active through the seasons.

Hit the pavement

We designed Symphony Farms with wide sidewalks on both sides of the street to make it easy for families to safely walk around the community. There is plenty of room to bring a stroller or a friendly dog on your walk too.

Many residents turned to shelters for new pets within the last year so there will be lots of fresh faces. If you have new pets this spring, consider adding pictures to the Symphony Farms, Gardner KS Facebook group. It is an easy way to introduce yourself and track down escape artists as needed.

The community’s side streets and cul-de-sacs offer another safe place for kids to play with basketball goals and other games taking place.

Check out Celebration Park

Just north of the community, you will find the Celebration Park and Sports Complex. This 83-acre development includes baseball fields, soccer fields, shelters with picnic tables, barbeque grills, a playground, and several large open areas where visitors can play. The park also features winding trails for walking or jogging and a 10-acre lake.

Celebration Park is a central fixture in Gardner hosting a number of special events throughout the year like the Smoke on the Trails BBQ Competition, Grand Slam Beer, Wine & Spirits Fest, Boo Bash, and Christmas in the Park among others.

Start a garden

Whether you picked up a passion for cooking and have been considering planting your own herbs or you just want to add a few colorful flowers to your yard, this is a great time to start planning. Popular advice says to plant after the final frost and -- fingers crossed -- we are there.

The biggest consideration when choosing what to plant in your new garden is the amount of light available in its new location. Once you have decided where to start planting and what to grow, it is time to shop. Try local businesses like Trails West Ace Hardware of Orsheln Farm & Home for high-quality selections.
